 Implementation of Kyocera Group's "School-Based Environmental Classes"
Kyocera has been undertaking the community-based social action program "School-Based Environmental Classes" since 2002 so that the children who will lead the next generation can deepen their understanding of environmental issues and energy in their school education and develop a spirit that considers the earth.  Donations to Schools in Tanzania and Nepal
From FY2010, Kyocera is donating solar photovoltaic systems to four Tanzanian schools each year for five years (total 20 schools). Tanzanian education is concentrating on the cultivation of future human resources. Our aim is to aid improvement of the education environment. Additionally, from FY2010, we are donating solar photovoltaic systems to three schools in Nepal each year for five years (total 15 schools).  Donations to Elementary Schools in Cambodia
At the request of a Japan-based NGO involved in international cooperation, Kyocera donated solar photovoltaic systems to five elementary schools and child welfare facilities in Cambodia, from 2007 to 2008. Photo:Donations to elementary schools in Cambodia


 Donation of a Solar Power Generating System to the Botanical Gardens in Tianjin, China

Kyocera donated a grid-connected solar power generating system, along with basic equipment, to the botanical gardens in the Tianjin Economic-Technological Development Area (TEDA). This represents China's first public solar power installation; it will serve to demonstrate the environmentally friendly advantages of solar power in that country.

 Contribution to Environmentally Friendly Rural Electrification through Donation of Solar Power Systems

Kyocera donated solar power systems to villages without electricity in Kankoi, Pakistan, in 1983; and in 1985 to Yuanzi village, Lanzhou, in China's Gansu Province. Kyocera contributes to the betterment of human life through environmentally friendly rural electrification with independent power supply systems.

 Participation in Afforestation Activities in South Africa

KYOCERA MITA South Africa has built a partnership with Food & Trees for Africa, a non-governmental organization (NGO) involved in greening activities. Since FY2008, KYOCERA MITA South Africa has donated 5,000 trees. We are continuing activities aimed at achieving "carbon-neutrality" of CO2 producing business activities.

 Support for the New Energy Foundation
Kyocera has long advocated clean energy generated through solar-cell technology, and established a solar energy business in 1975. In 1980, Kyocera supported the creation of the New Energy Foundation, governed by the Agency for Natural Resources and Energy in Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.
